最も一般的で広く使われる表現。イギリス英語・アメリカ英語ともに標準的。
例: This book is different from that one.（この本はあの本と違う）
Different to
主にイギリス英語で使われる。from とほぼ同じ意味だが、フォーマルさは少し落ちる。
例: His style is different to mine.（彼のスタイルは私のと違う）
Different than
アメリカ英語でよく使われる。後に節（S+V）が続く場合に便利。
例: The situation is different than I expected.（状況は私が予想したのと違う）

to → イギリス英語で日常的
than → アメリカ英語で節を続けるとき便利
