Gemini 3.8 Live pricing: audio in at $0.005 a minute and audio out at $0.018

Google made Gemini 3.8 Live and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking generally available on 15 September 2026[1]. Both are audio-to-audio models for real-time voice applications built on the Live API[1].

The model codes are gemini-3.8-live and gemini-3.8-live-extended-thinking[2]. Google describes them as low-latency models optimized for real-time voice agents and live dialogue[2]. Extended Thinking adds support for reasoning in the background[2].

Per million tokens, input is $0.75 for text, $3.00 for audio and $1.00 for image and video[2]. Output is $4.50 for text and $12.00 for audio[2].

Audio is also priced by the minute, at $0.005 in and $0.018 out, and image and video input is $0.002 a minute[2]. An hour of audio input comes to $0.30, and an hour of audio output to $1.08[2].

The same row also lists gemini-3.1-flash-live-preview at the same rates[2]. On the free tier, input and output are free of charge[2].

Grounding with Google Search is supported, with 5,000 free search requests a month shared across all Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000 requests[2]. One request can lead to several searches, and each one is charged[2].
