Organic chemistry looks like a pile of things to memorise only while the compounds and the reactions are kept apart. They are all connected, and once the connections are drawn on one sheet, what is left to learn is the number of arrows.
Points are compounds and arrows are reactions. Press a point for the structural formula and the functional group. Press an arrow and the flask runs the reaction, with the reagent, the conditions and the balanced equation shown together.
The map is in four parts. The aliphatic part puts ethanol in the middle and runs out to oxidation on one side and dehydration on the other. The aromatic part leaves benzene along three roads. The tests part asks what is in the flask and answers with reagents. The separation part takes a mixture apart in order of acid strength.
The bar charts are part of the argument, not decoration. Boiling point shows which compounds of similar molar mass stand higher because they hydrogen bond. Acid strength puts carboxylic acid, carbonic acid and phenol in the order that becomes the order of reagents in the funnel.
