英語の四則演算（足し算、引き算、かけ算、割り算）の表現

英語で足し算、引き算、かけ算、割り算は addition subtraction multiplication division といいます。

四則演算では A is B または A equals B と表現します。

足し算

2 + 3 = 5

Two plus three is five.
Two plus three equals five.

引き算

13 - 9 = 4

Thirteen minus nine is four.
Thirteen minus nine equals four.

かけ算

4 × 7 = 28

Four times seven is twenty-eight.
Four times seven equals twenty-eight.

英語でも日本語と同じようにかけ算の段があり、例えば「3の段」は three times table といいます。「九九」は times tables です。

割り算

8 ÷ 4 = 2

Eight divided by four is two.
Eight divided by four equals two.

11 ÷ 4 = 2 r 3

Eleven divided by four is two with a remainder of three.
Eleven divided by four equals two with a remainder of three.

余りは … ではなく r と書きます。
